On Wednesday December 22nd we were having a great day! Dennis had the day off and the boys had their Christmas program. It was a great morning. We decided to try something with Beckham that we heard could work wonders for his sleeping- a chiropractor! I made the appointment and off we went. The chiropractor was wonderful and helped Beckham with a kink in his neck and one in his back. The chiropractor was so sure this would help him sleep. We were beyond excited. We got home and had dinner. As I was getting everything ready upstairs, all the boys were downstairs playing. Dennis came up with some dishes and the two older boys followed. About two seconds later we heard SCREAMING! Beckham was so upset and uncomfortable. I knew he had fallen but assumed he was mostly tired. We put him down to sleep only to be awakened at 11:30 with more screaming. He wouldn't let us touch his arm. Dennis took him to Primary Children's Hospital at midnight. Around 4:30 I am updated by text with the above picture with the words "fractured clavicle!" I couldn't believe it. I have never dealt with anything like this before. I have come to realize that Beckham is very different from Cole and Bradley. He is a climber, has no fear, and is into everything. As tough as this is to believe, Cole and Bradley were very tame (I am sure that was a blessing to my sanity back then)! So...we have no idea if the chiropractor would have worked and this made Christmas a lot more interesting...but he is on the mend...and we are grateful!

He did WHAT??
What Happened?
I can't believe my last post was in June. I have failed to capture some fun (and not so fun) moments we have had since June. I am going to try and catch up. It does strike me as funny that my last post was about Beckham not sleeping....don't worry...that hasn't changed....so no need to update anyone on that subject! :)

Sleep Deprived....
As all of you have heard (because I whine about it often) my sweet baby boy is not a good night sleeper. Because of this he has a tendency to sleep in different places throughout the house at night (I have literally given up on any methods and I apparently cannot let him cry for too long- it tortures me)! He has slept in our bed, in chairs, on a mattress on his floor, in a port a crib, in his crib, and finally the couch. I had just gotten home from working out yesterday morning and the picture below is how I found Beckham. How on earth is this more comfortable than his crib? At least he is asleep...right?

ONE YEAR
Beckham turned ONE today at 12:35 p.m.!! I cannot believe it has been a year. This past year has gone by so fast. This year he did a lot of pool days, road trips (Jackson Hole, St. George, Moab), had his blessing, first holidays, first play date, first haircut, first...and second surgery, and many more milestones! He has been a blessing. He has the best smile that lights up a room and is the WORST sleeper. He is attached to mom...24/7 (which I usually don't mind)! :) His brothers make him laugh...hysterically. We had a birthday party at my mom and dad's house to celebrate. He would not touch the cake but loved his presents. I have a great video of his first year...from my wonderful friend Marianne who took the time to make it...so if you are interested let me know, you know I would LOVE to bring it over! Happy Birthday to my beautiful baby boy!

He's Walking!!!
Beckham started walking on Thursday February 25th at 9 months old. He took his first steps alone from his highchair over to the window and has been going ever since! He walks as fast as his brothers now and can keep up with them! Cole started walking in February of 2004 and Bradley started walking in February of 2005. February is our month I guess! :)

First Haircut
Beckham got his first haircut today at Cookie Cutters. He was so excited to get in the chair and take the wheel but when she started buzzing his hair he wanted to get out of there....fast! He looks so much older now! But now he can rock the Mohawk again... :)

Bradley's 6th Birthday!
Six years ago on March 2nd at 1:00 a.m. Bradley was born! It was the scariest delivery I have ever had and after a very quick emergency c-section our baby Bradley was born. He was born with quite a little attitude (which I have grown to love very much)! He is fun, imaginative, energetic, and sweet. I adore him. He was a surprise and the best surprise I have had in my life! He had his first friend party and (of course) it had to be a Super Mario party! He had a great day!

Sunshine and Clean Air
We decided to take a road trip....to ...over Valentine's day with my mom and dad! We had the BEST time! We stayed in a wonderful cabin that had a river and a beautiful red rock mountain behind it. We visited the Canyonlands National Park and The Arches National Park. Dennis, Cole, Bradley, and my dad all went on a hike up to see the Delicate Arch. I was so impressed that the two little boys could do it (and so were many others on the hiking trail)! It was so nice to get away and have a great weekend. Beckham was a trooper- his ears still hurt him but he didn't whine once and actually slept pretty well. Here is my favorite picture from the trip:
When Life Hands You.......
It has been a long time since I have posted. I suppose I have been waiting for something fun and exciting to happen (and it actually has...I will post that next) but for MUCH too long it has been crying and misery in the LaTour household! Since Beckham was born, sleep has not been our friend. Beckham has never been able to lie down flat on his back.. mostly due to reflux. We have gotten used to minimal sleep, but until December 15th we had no idea on how little sleep we would actually start getting. My three little guys have had a hard 2 1/2 months. Cole (being the one with the chronic illness...asthma) has been our healthiest. Which is actually one less worry on our minds since, because, if history is any indicator he is hospitalized at least once almost every winter. So far so good. Knock on wood. Bradlay has battled constant ear infections and colds. He really does well though and gets through it ok. We battled ear infections when Bradley was younger and ended up getting tubes. We had to do that twice for him. It did improve but now this year it seems like he is back to struggling with the pain of ear infections. He is doing better and looking forward to his 6th birthday party. Now last (but NEVER least) is our sweet Beckham. He has had it the worst. He has had a constant ear infection since January 6th. He has been on several antibiotics (even the injection kind) and nothing clears his little ears. He is in constant pain, especially at night. So from what little sleep we were getting before it is even less now. Constant crying at night- sometimes full on screaming and a lot of sleeping in a chair to keep him as upright as we can. After several hundred dollars spent on dr appointments and medicine we finally went and saw an ENT doctor. Tubes it is for Beckham. The surgery was yesterday. It went very well and he seems to be feeling better. Last night was a rough night again but we were warned that would happen....so cross your fingers that in time we may actually get a full nights sleep! So WHEN LIFE HANDS YOU BAD EARS...... you get tubes and pray for the best! :) Here is my little guy in the hospital. The staff and doctors were wonderful- very cute with him!

Bradley's Buddies....
Bradley is pretty lucky! He has a lot of great friends in the neighborhood and he gets to carpool with three of them to school every day. Yesterday we had them come over and play before school! I just think they are all so cute I had to take a picture. Bradley, Rhett, Caleb, and Nick
Too cool for school......

On The Move.....
Beckham started crawling on Cole's Birthday (Jan 6th)! I was so excited until....the days that followed and he got really good. Now I have to block off the fireplace, stairs, and all the plugs and wires. Not to mention....isn't this going by too quickly? He is growing up much too fast!

Cole's Birthday Celebration....
This year for Cole's Birthday we told him he could invite just a few friends to Chuck E Cheese! So on his birthday we headed out and had dinner, played games, and of course ate some cake! He had a great time. Since Cole is allergic to eggs he wanted his friends to have a superman decorated cake but made me promise I would make him an egg less special cake for him to have at home. So Cole had two cakes (and he was nice enough to let Bradley blow candles out on his second cake). It was a nice day!
Happy Birthday Cole.....
Seven years ago today Dennis and I were sitting in the hospital waiting and waiting for our first son to be born. We knew (for years actually) that we were going to name our first son Cole. I had to be induced so I went in the night before and FINALLY he was born at 11:48 the next night. He was the easiest baby- such a sweetheart and still is. He is thoughtful, funny, smart, rowdy, and just a lot of fun to be around. We LOVE this kid! Happy Birthday Cole!
